Undecyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-b-D-glucopyranoside has been shown to be involved in signaling pathways and gene expression regulation, as well as having an effect on the activity of other proteins. This glycosaminoglycan has been used to profile gene expression levels in cells and tissues. The high density microarray technique can be used to analyze the expression profile of many genes simultaneously.
